How Your Car Seat Fits in the Car
3d - Forward-Facing Seats

If you’re ready for a forward-facing seat, you have more than likely gone through the convertible seat phase. If not, there is no reason to go there as long as your child is really ready to go forward-facing. If you are unsure about this, please read "Infant Seats" under "The Basics of Child Safety Seats" section. Also remember that your child is safer rear-facing as long as he/she fits properly and meets the height/weight requirements.

In a forward-facing seat the harness carries the load of the child and stretches along with the seat shell to allow your child to slow down over a longer period of time.
