How Your Car Seat Fits in the Car
3a - Read this First

Both the child safety seat and the vehicle's owner manuals cover aspects of installation of the child safety seat in the car. To get the whole picture you must read both of these manuals before installing the child safety seat in your car. This information should be followed carefully. If the manuals seem to conflict with each other, or are otherwise confusing, contact the child safety seat manufacturer and/or the vehicle dealer for guidance. If you are still unable to get the answers you need go to "Regional Help" on this web site and contact the help in your area.

If you have not done so yet, please read about the type of seat you are using in the "The Basics of Child Safety Seats" section. Understanding how a seat protects a child will help you understand why it needs to be installed they way it does.
